School of Philosophy and Sociology and School of Marxism grew out of two former faculties of the university respectively----Department of Applied Social Sciences, Teaching and Research Department of Marxism. The school began to enroll MA course students in 1985, undergraduate students in 1994, top-up students of Ideological and Political Education in 2000, PhD course students in 2007, and MA Specialty students in 2010. By the end of 2010, the school had cultivated 1565 qualified people to meet the needs of the society, including 893 graduates of bachelor's degree, 318 top-up graduates, 346 MA Specialty graduates, and 8 graduates of PhD.

 

The school graduates are now all over the country, yet 50% in Shaanxi, and some even seeking a chance for individual development abroad. As to profession, 10% of them work in government departments, 30% in higher education institutions, 55% in large enterprises, and 5% in other areas. The employers' think highly of our graduates. Their feedback suggests that the graduates are competent enough to serve the jobs, with both profound knowledge and professional spirit; they possess the quality of innovation and ability of communication. What makes our graduates outstanding is their vocational ethics, hence no illegal behavior so far. The above quality, together with the political integrity, promotes them the role model everywhere.
